After announcing her pregnancy last week, Jummy Olabanji told News4 Today viewers that she was expecting a baby girl.

The morning news anchor did a gender reveal at the end of the 6 a.m. time slot of News4 Today. Surrounded by the morning anchor team, Olabanji brought out a pink and blue blazer before donning the pink blazer after revealing the gender.

“I’ve just been overwhelmed the past week since I shared the news last Friday,” said Olabanji before making the announcement. “Thank you so much to everyone who’s reached out.”

Leading up to the big reveal, the NoVA native went around the NBC4 office asking her colleagues if they thought she was having a boy or girl. Eleven people thought she was having a girl, while nine thought it was a boy, and one person voted for twins. When she asked viewers, 59 percent voted that it would be a girl.

This is Olabanji and her husband’s first child. They are expecting the new addition in early summer.
