You can tour the White House Gardens and South Grounds this weekend, but plan to line up early to get tickets to the coveted garden tours.
The fall garden tours happens from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13.
The tours are free. The National Park Service hands out timed tickets outside the White House Visitor Center, starting at 8:30 a.m. each day. The tickets say specifically what hour or half-hour your tour begins.
The tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at 1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. Each person needs a ticket and should be there when they are given out.
Once you have tickets, go to the South Lawn entry point on 15th Street NW between E Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW, near the Boy Scout Memorial, to enter. There’s an entrance for wheelchairs at 15th Street NW, and Alexander Hamilton Place NW.
The White House prohibits a variety of items, including water bottles, purses, and backpacks. See all the restrictions.
