Kings Dominion celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025, and the amusement park in Doswell has started to release how it plans to commemorate the occasion.

Look for entertainment to take center stage with live shows and performances throughout the 400-acre park.

Among them:

  • An all-new set of tunes from the Singing Mushrooms in Candy Apple Grove
  • A high-energy roaming street party
  • The return of the Kings Dominion Clown Band
  • Family-friendly shows at the Kings Dominion Theater
  • Entertainment along International Street
  • The lighting of its Eiffel Tower with special effects, synchronized to a special golden anniversary soundtrack
  • Interactive artifacts from the park’s past

“For nearly five decades, Kings Dominion has been a place where Virginians come together to have fun and make memories, and that’s just what our guests can expect in 2025 as Kings Dominion celebrates its 50th anniversary,” said Bridgette Bywater, vice president and general manager.

“We will pay tribute to our rich history with the addition of new specialty food offerings, live entertainment, a nighttime spectacular, and of course, the opening of the most anticipated coaster of next season, the record-breaking Rapterra,” Bywater said.

The park said on Wednesday that its full lineup and entertainment schedule will be announced later.

What Else to Expect

Of course, there will be exclusive 50th-anniversary merchandise.

The food and drinks “will be available from a menu inspired by the past, present, and future of the park” for a limited time, a news release said. Past favorites will appear, along with new food and beverage items.

Visitors will be able to ride Rapterra, the world’s tallest and longest launched wing coaster, during the 2025 season. This is one of more than 60 rides that can be found at the park, 13 of which are roller coasters.

Season passes are on sale for $97. When you buy a 2025 Gold Pass, you’ll get unlimited visits and free parking for the rest of this season and the duration of the 2025 season.
