You could say it was a “ruff” day for Benny the beagle. He got “jammed” under the flooring of his family’s shed in Dale City, according to a Facebook post from the union that represents Prince William Professional Firefighters.
Benny, beagle that he is, thought he was “going to be stuck fur-ever,” the post by IAFF Local 2598 said, but that the firefighters from Rescue and Engine 10 were there to do the “im-paw-sible” and rescue him.
They had to cut the floor apart to free Benny, but he’s OK and “ready to raise the woof,” the post said.
According to the Prince William Times, Benny’s partner in crime, a Jack Russell terrier, used his nose to direct firefighters to Benny’s location. Capt. Marcus Saager of Prince William Fire and Rescue told the Prince William Times that the beagle’s legs were pinned and he couldn’t move.
Hopefully, Benny’s next adventure won’t involve the fire department, but if it does, there’s no doubt he’ll remember his firefighting friends.
