New Wine Bar Coming to Courthouse
Inside the 168-room Hyatt Place that opened at 2415 Wilson Blvd. near the Arlington Courthouse Metro stop late last summer, residents can take part in imbibing and dining at the Verre Wine Bar and Restaurant. The new spot will take up 1,300 square feet of space with 50 indoor bar and restaurant seats on the ground floor and is expected to open this spring.
Arlington’s Long Bridge Park Aquatic Center Moves Forward with a Scaled-Down Plan
The initial plans for this center near I-395 and the 14th Street Bridge called for a $63-$67 million project to include three pools, dive towers, lobbies and more. But after reducing the bill by $15 million, the somewhat-stalled plan has gained momentum again. Now the center will hold two pools, spectator seats, two “wet classrooms” a family teaching pool, health and fitness space and a community room. It will also include a 10.5-acre park. Work is expected to be completed by 2021 according to The Washington Business Journal.
Loudoun Gets New Multispecialty Center
In April Loudoun Medical Group, in partnership with HCA, opened the Medical Office Building at StoneSprings Hospital Center that now brings a slew of medical specialties to patients in the area, from primary care to internal medicine, general surgery, gynecology, immunology, orthopedics, neurology and more. The center now offers diagnostic services like laboratory testing, ultrasounds and immunizations.
Cleanly App Hits NoVA Area
The Manhattan-based app that allows users to schedule laundry pickups online, plus the ability to provide cleaning instructions, is now available in Clarendon/Courthouse, Rosslyn and Ballston neighborhoods. There is also a subscription service, Cleanly Reserve, that offers perks and discounts to those who use the service often. Same-day service is available, and like all things online, you can track the delivery of your freshly laundered items.
Dulles Station Gets a New Park for Dogs, Too
Kids and dogs have a new place to play. The newest park, Dulles Station Community Park located on Sayward Boulevard in Herndon, is 2.6 acres of playgrounds, seating, plazas, multiuse courts and a dog park. There is also a fitness area, shade pavilion and trails. The park cost $1.6 million.
FC Barcelona Looks to Loudoun for New Soccer School
FCB Escola Northern Virginia, a franchise of premier soccer schools and training programs from FC Barcelona, is opening at Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg later this year. Tryouts for the programs were held in April for ages 6-18, and executives and scouts will be moving from Spain to work with the program’s athletes.
Ernst & Young Opens New Office in Tysons
The well-known accounting firm just opened a new 125,000-square-foot office complex on Tysons Boulevard that will accommodate over 2,500 professionals.
