Hendrik Hertzberg of The New Yorker called her “one of America’s very best singer-songwriters” and over the years Dar Williams has not disappointed. She began in the early 1990s with her debut album “The Honesty Room” and went on to play with legends such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin and Joan Baez. She now takes the stage at The Birchmere to perform the songs that initially brought her national and international acclaim. / Dec. 5-6

5A Kodachrome Christmas
Pat Hazell’s hilarious one-woman show, “A Kodachrome Christmas,” stars Marianne Curan as cable-access host Earlene Hoople as she tapes a live-recording of her Christmas special. Featuring letters to Mrs. Claus and a wacky family slideshow, share the holidays with the “Queen of Rural Media.” / Dec. 19-21
