Dulles Sportsplex Is Closing This Month

The local athletic center will close after 23 years of business.

By Emily Perez August 27, 2026 at 10:49 am

The Michael & Son Sportsplex at Dulles is closing after 23 years of service, The Burn reported. The athletic center’s last day will be August 31.

The facility houses indoor fields, courts, training areas, and equipment rentals for classes and youth and adult leagues. It hosts parties, tournaments, summer camps, and other events for sports including basketball, soccer, football, and hockey. The site also hosted community and retail pop-up events, including consignment sales.

The closure was confirmed in an email to customers, according to The Burn. “Our lease expires at the end of August. We had been working toward what we hoped would be another lease or extension that would allow us to remain at the facility, but it is our understanding that the property owner ultimately decided to sell the building to a higher-end user in the industrial space.”

There is no word on what might replace the large warehouse space.
