Just last month, Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie announced he was retiring from the NHL. The decision led Oshie and his family to put their McLean home on the market and move back to Minnesota.
Oshie has lived in the NoVA community since he was traded to the Capitals back in 2015 – previously residing in McLean’s Langley Farms neighborhood. His current home, located at 1004 Dogue Hill Ln., was built in 2021 and features six bedrooms, six full and two half bathrooms, and 11,400 square feet. The house is currently listed for $9,850,000.

As you walk down the grand foyer, you are met with the home’s living room. The marble fireplace will immediately catch your eye. Rift and quarter-sawn white oak floors fill the room and the rest of the main living spaces, while the coffered ceiling adds dimension to the room.

The next cook in this home will definitely appreciate this minimalist kitchen. The room is filled with top-tier appliances and fitted with custom cabinetry. Dual center islands provide plenty of space for a casual meal or a friend-filled dinner party. A butler’s pantry leads from the kitchen to the dining room.

The kitchen opens up to the spacious family room. A modern fireplace centers the room, making it the perfect spot for gathering with friends and family after a long day.

Head up to the second level – either using the stairs or elevator – in order to explore the owner’s suite. The bedroom is fitted with sky-high cathedral ceilings, making the room feel even bigger.

The suite also features two separate dressing rooms — making morning routines a breeze. One of the dressing rooms includes a bespoke vanity for accessory storage.

Next up is the spa-like bathroom. The luxurious space was designed with dual oversized vanities with waterfall countertops, a marble bathtub, and walk-in shower. Plus, the hallway leading to the ensuite bathroom features a built-in coffee bar, so you don’t have to wait for your daily dose of caffeine.

The second level has three additional ensuite bedrooms. This room, with star-patterned walls, will be the go-to choice for little ones.

The laundry room is conveniently located on the second level. The home also has a washer and dryer setup in the mudroom next to the family room.

The home gets even brighter when you make your way to the lower level. Gather around the double-sided fireplace or head to the recreation and game rooms for some family fun. This level also includes an exercise room and additional bedrooms.

What’s a recreation room without a wet bar? This modern setup wows with its glass-enclosed and temperature-controlled wine cellar.

For when it’s too nice to be indoors, make your way to the two-level patio. The outdoor entertainment space has a built-in firepit, stone fireplace, and an outdoor kitchen. The entertainment doesn’t stop there. An in-ground pool and putting green add to the fun.
