In Vienna, this understated family home is under contract after being listed at just over $1.3 million. 538 Marshall Rd. SW, Vienna, is a colonial-style home that was built in 1966 and carefully renovated over the years to maintain a fresh appearance and functionality.

The home has four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, for a total interior living space of 2,708 square feet. It sits on a lot of 0.31 acres.

Laura Schwartz of Real Broker listed this home on May 1 for $1,325,000, and it went under contract on May 11.

Inside, the living area is simple and spacious, with a wood-burning fireplace as its centerpiece and warm-toned hardwood floors contributing to a cozy atmosphere. This space has recessed lighting, along with several tall windows, so it’s always full of light.

The kitchen is functional and cute, with a sage green tile backsplash creating contrast with the white shaker soft-close cabinets and quartz counters. Renovated in 2017, it features stainless steel appliances, a mini wine fridge, and a spacious island.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, including this primary suite. It has two custom closets, pus an en-suite bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. The remaining three bedrooms share a full hallway bathroom.

One of the recent upgrades is the inclusion of this home gym, built out of a former carport. It has a mini-split for heating and cooling, plus cubbies so it can double as a mudroom.

The basement level presents additional space for storage and entertainment, with room for an office or gym, a fireplace, and a door to the yard.
