This past year was another record breaker for Northern Virginia real estate. With home prices continuing to slowly rise across the region, the most lavish homes in Northern Virginia also saw a price jump compared to last year. These are the most expensive Northern Virginia homes sold in 2024, according to Homes.com.

$25.5 million: 700 Bulls Neck Rd., McLean

Nestled in on a cliff overlooking the Potomac River, this larger-than-life mansion has views most of us could only dream of. Head inside this 32,000-square-foot estate for nothing but luxury. The new-construction home features eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and top-of-the-line amenities. As you explore this home, you’ll find a wine cellar that holds 3,000 bottles, an indoor basketball court, a garage that holds up to 22 cars and doubles as a ballroom space, and an indoor pool and hot tub. In the backyard, you’ll find an infinity pool and fire pit that overlooks the river.

Better known as Bolinvar, this premiere equestrian estate was the highest sale in Loudoun County this year. The countryside estate, which will turn 100 years old in 2025, includes more than 325 acres of land. The stone manor was built with 22 rooms, including seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The charming home features the best of both worlds with original features and remodeled spaces, including the kitchen. Outside, the beautifully landscaped grounds feature a stocked pond, terraces, verdant trees, and heated pool.

$14.75 million: 9351 Cornwell Farm Dr., Great Falls

We can see why this home became the highest recorded residential home sale of all time in Great Falls. Wildersmoor House sits on 17.3 acres of tree-covered land. Even though the home was built in 2000, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time due to its elegant craftsmanship and facade. With oversized handmade bricks, custom Elizabeth Eakins and Hokanson carpets, and French limestone floors, it’s clear that no detail has been overlooked. Outside of this eight-bedroom home, you’ll find a pond, stables, equestrian training area, and three pastures.

$10.5 million: 7216 Dulany Dr., McLean

Built by Artisan Builders and GTM Architects, this new-construction build is full of Scandinavian architectural influences. Inside the five-bedroom home, clean lines, wood details, and a neutral palette flow throughout the three-level space. Outdoor amenities include a pool and garage with room for four vehicles.

$10.1 million: 6538 Sothoron Rd., McLean

Situated on a cul-de-sac, this 2023 estate checks off lots of desirable features. Starting with the amenities, you’ll be wowed by the in-ground pool, outdoor entertaining space, basketball court, heated spa, and home theater. The natural elements find their way indoors with stone and wood accents throughout the nearly 11,000-square-foot space.

$9.95 million: 903 Turkey Run Rd., McLean

If you follow Turkey Run Road to the end, you’ll find this home nestled into trees. This home will wow you with both its indoor and outdoor setup. Inside, you’ll find over 12,000 square feet, six bedrooms, seven-and-a-half baths and a two-story music room. Outside, a screened porch with a fireplace, pool, spa, and cabana will keep you entertained on those beautiful spring and summer days. The McLean home is also less than a mile away from Langley High School.

$9.8 million: 9641 Georgetown Pk., Great Falls

This 24,000-square-foot estate, named Château de Lumière, was inspired by the traditions found in European architecture. The home is located on more than 5 acres of secluded grounds with mature gardens. As you walk through the home, it’s all about the small details, from the glass mosaics and imported marble to the custom cabinets and plaster molding. Even with these traditional finds, you’ll also notice plenty of state-of-the-art amenities, like the chef’s kitchen, in-ground pool, spa, bar and wine room, sauna, and theater room.

$9.115 million: 7012 Holyrood Dr., McLean

After more than a year on the market, this home finally sold in April. The new build is located on 1.3 acres, offering plenty of privacy in the serene neighborhood. Yet to be built, this home will give its new owners the chance to customize it exactly to their specifications.

$9 million: 6622 Malta Ln., McLean

This estate makes you feel like you’re vacationing in the French countryside. Head out back for a true escape. The 15-year-old home includes six bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms. The heated in-ground pool, landscaped garden, and pond with a tranquil waterfall will melt away the stress. Plus, the pergola with the outdoor fireplace make the perfect spot to unwind with friends any time of the year.

The home of former Washington Nationals pitcher and World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg hit the market this year, selling in just over two months. Built in 2020, the home is located on a 1-acre private lot. The home was built by Artisan Builders and is outfitted with a handful of customizations from the former residents. The abode is further equipped with amenities that include a screened porch, workout room, theater room, and 47-foot-long pool with a waterfall.
