Eco-friendly furniture and home accessories concept Whom Home opens in Tysons

The California brand launched its second showroom at Tysons Galleria on Feb. 1.

We’re all still spending a lot of time at home. If you feel your abode needs a little sprucing up this season–and you want to buy well-made products that are sustainable, durable and reduce your carbon footprint–a new shop aims to appeal to that eco-friendly sensibility.

Whom Home, a purveyor of furniture and home goods whose flagship showroom is located in Los Angeles, just opened the doors to its second brick and mortar location, at Tysons Galleria in McLean.

“Our customer is not only concerned about the initial impact their purchase makes, but the subsequent impact of landfilling their home products,” said CEO and founder Jonathan Bass in a statement. “Consumers increasingly want furniture that will last longer, so they don’t need to replace it as often due to the effects on the environment.”

Shoppers are encouraged to customize home furniture including dining tables and chairs, sofas and sectionals, lounge and accent seating, coffee and side tables, beds, nightstands, dressers, desks and workspaces and more. Decor offerings include accents, mirrors, pillows, candles and art, and there are even pet beds and bowls for the furry members of the family. Vignettes in the showroom gives examples of how pieces will look in different spaces in homes with various design styles.

Whom Home uses sustainable hardwood, materials made from recycled polystyrene recovered from the ocean and non-toxic paints and finishes, and 50 easy-to-clean fabrics which have a lighter carbon footprint. Furniture and accessories are made in Mexico with French and Italian machinery and ship in four to six weeks. The company is also opening showrooms in Boca Raton, Florida and Natick, Massachusetts.
