The St. James Has Expanded into Reston with its New Performance Club

The new facility at Reston Town Center places a special focus on adult wellness, fitness, and conditioning.

Reston gained a new fitness facility on April 30 with the opening of The St. James Performance Club at Reston Town Center, located at 11951 Freedom Drive, Reston. The Performance Club is an extension of The St. James’ Springfield flagship complex, streamlined to deliver a sleek, modern fitness space tailored to the needs of busy residents and working professionals.

The club opened its doors with a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony featuring co-founders Craig Dixon and Kendrick Ashton, as well as Fairfax County Chairman Jeff McKay. The community was then invited to experience all that the new 25,000-square-foot facility has to offer, with live music, tours, and demo fitness classes.

Unlike The St. James in Springfield, which hosts programs for all ages and accommodates two ice rinks and an Olympic-size swimming pool in a massive 450,000-square-foot-complex, the two-floor Performance Club at Reston Town Center focuses on adult wellness, fitness, and conditioning, with spaces, equipment, and programs that allow members to train like athletes on a daily basis. It offers two separate turf areas, world-class cardio and strength-building equipment, an interactive cycling studio, and more than 70 group fitness programs designed to help members “build, burn, and recover.”

The sleek facility also features luxury locker room products by Molton Brown, a dry sauna, and the Vim & Victor “grab and go” cafe overseen by Chef Spike Mendelsohn. It does not offer childcare or any programs for members under 12 years old.

The St. James offers multiple membership plans, including one that provides access to both locations, allowing for convenient weekday workouts at St. James Reston along with the full menu of amenities and family-oriented sport leagues and camp opportunities offered at St. James Springfield. According to St. James Sales Ambassador Madison Adams, the current monthly rate for individual Reston membership is $125, while the monthly rate for the deluxe all-access to both locations is $195. Group classes are included in the membership fee; personal training is provided for an additional fee.

Adams says opening day was a great success, with the arrival of many new members. “We are happy to be fully operational in the Reston Town Center location and hope everyone will schedule a tour to see it for themselves,” says Adams. Management will validate parking for visitors and members up to three hours per visit at Reston Town Center’s purple parking garage.
