After five rounds of competitive voting, Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern has defended its Best Wings title as the winner of NoVA Wars: Wings Edition.
This is the sixth time Jimmy’s has taken the Wings War title, after topping Vienna’s Bear Branch Tavern in the final round of voting.
“We’d like to thank our fans and the community for their support,” the tavern said in a statement to Northern Virginia Magazine. “Thanks also to Chef Andre Rush from Kitchen Commando for his invaluable help formulating our very own wing sauce recipe. Special thanks to all the chickens that donated their wings and to Northern Virginia Magazine for hosting the ‘NoVA Wars: Wings Edition’ contest!”
The Herndon pub has become the go-to spot for authentic Buffalo wings in Northern Virginia. The restaurant’s Classic Buffalo Wings come in either mild, medium, hot, or heat rush and are served with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
In February, Jimmy’s was also crowned the winner of NoVA Wars: Cheesesteak Edition for its Philly Cheesesteak served on a Amoroso roll fresh from Philadelphia.
