By Colleen Kelleher October 4, 2023 at 4:12 pm

Fans of chef Peter Chang will be happy to hear that the acclaimed Sichuan flavor master will open a new restaurant in McLean next Thursday.

Peter Chang McLean at 6715 Lowell Ave. will be the chef’s 11th location. Most of of the restaurants are in Virginia, but there are a few located in Maryland and one in Connecticut. Chang also has the upscale casual restaurant Mama Chang in Fairfax.

The 2022 James Beard Award finalist for outstanding chef plans to serve some of his signature dishes in McLean. The menu features Peking roast duck, either as a half or a whole, for $42 or $80. Chang’s scallion bubble pancake is listed for $8. A small plate of Amish honey ribs is $16, and a small plate of his rougamou, a Chinese-style burger, is $20. Chang has his cumin pepper lamb shank on the menu for $38, as well as his Kung pao wagyu beef for $42.

The restaurant will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, it will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
