Our Mom Eugenia is cooking up something new in Shirlington. The family-owned, Great Falls-based Greek restaurant adds an Arlington location, opening a new 3,604-square-foot restaurant at the Village at Shirlington on March 30.
The highly acclaimed, authentic Greek restaurant was one of our 50 Best Restaurants of 2022. With outposts in Great Falls, Fairfax at the Mosaic District, and now Shirlington, chef Eugenia Hobson is expanding to bring local philhellenes more masterfully made traditional Greek cuisine.

Hobson has been a chef for 30 years and opened her first establishment in Great Falls in 2016. Born and raised on the island of Zakynthos in the Ionian Sea in western Greece, her grandmother, for whom she’s named, taught her to cook. Hobson honed her skills at local restaurants like Mykonos and Nostos before striking out on her own with hospitality and Greek comfort food.
Open for lunch and dinner, Our Mom Eugenia features soups like avgolémono and fakés, an assortment of salads, flavorful spreads, distinctive seafood, meat and vegetarian appetizers, and entrées, as well as traditional Greek desserts. (Don’t pass on Eugenia’s specialty, Apple Cake à la Mode — the perfect ending to your meal.) The restaurant also offers craft cocktails and an all-Greek wine list.
Shirlington’s dining options are increasing, with more establishments coming soon to the neighborhood. In addition to Our Mom Eugenia, Astro Beer Hall is slated to open this spring. 4044 Campbell Ave., Arlington
