Astro Doughnuts

When you’re on the hunt for a delicious doughnut, there is nowhere better to start than at a regional favorite. Astro Doughnuts was founded by childhood friends Elliot Spaisman and Jeff Halpern, who grew up playing hockey, and would always enjoy a post-game doughnut together. As adults, their childhood pastime was preserved when they decided to open a local doughnut shop, where they could offer their favorite comfort food. Astro Doughnuts has become a local treasure, offering doughnut combinations like the PB&J and the Mango Passion Fruit. Don’t miss their wondrous Crème Brûlée doughnut. 7511 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church

There are the seasonal doughnuts, like the caramel apple crumble, the not-your-average doughnuts, like the jelly stick, and the classic doughnuts, like the chocolate cake. And if you want something else to pair up with your doughnut, the wide selection of sandwiches and breakfast bowls will surely do you justice. 672 N. Glebe Rd., Ste. 1, Arlington

Mochi is a Japanese delicacy of rice turned flour, wrapped around a filling of ice cream. While mochi ice cream has become a beloved dessert in the U.S., mochi doughnuts are having their own moment, combining the uniqueness of mochi with the comforting characteristics of traditional doughnuts. At Donutchew, you can try these sweet (and addictive) mochi donuts for yourself. From Ube to Tropical Guava and Fruity Pebbles to Choco Pebble, along with their unusual pon de ring shape, Donutchew’s doughnuts are the place to be for any mochi or doughnut fan.
