A Moo Thru Is Opening in Burke This Summer

This will be the award-winning ice cream shop’s third Northern Virginia location.

There’s good news for NoVA ice cream lovers. Last year, Moo Thru was voted the best ice cream in Northern Virginia. And now, a new Moo Thru location is set to open in Burke this summer.

Located in Burke Town Center at 6025H Burke Centre Pkwy., the storefront is currently under construction. The shop is looking to open its doors this June.

“Whenever we were near Remington, we made it a point to stop at Moo Thru, and it quickly became our favorite ice cream,” says Morgan Johson, the Burke franchise owner. “Yes, it’s absolutely delicious, but what truly won us over was the farm-to-table (or cow-to-cone, if you will) story behind it. That really resonated with us, and we started looking into joining the Moo Thru ‘herd.’”

From hand-dipped cones to over-the-top sundaes, ice cream lovers will be able to find the same award-winning, handcrafted ice cream from the original Remington location in Burke. What you won’t find is a drive-thru. However, the storefront will have more sitting room inside, making the space a destination.

“Our vision is to be more than just a quick stop for delicious ice cream,” says Johnson. “We think our neighbors will be excited about a gathering place where families and friends can gather, connect, and enjoy everyday milestones together.”

The Burke storefront will mark Moo Thru’s seventh location, and third in Northern Virginia (not counting the food trucks). In 2024, Moo Thru opened its second Northern Virginia store in Herndon.
