Moo Thru Wins NoVA Wars: Ice Cream Edition

In this year’s final-round rematch, Moo Thru was victorious over Nathan’s Dairy Bar.

The results of our 2025 NoVA Wars: Ice Cream contest are in. Northern Virginians have selected Moo Thru as this year’s champion.

In a rematch of last year’s contest, the Remington ice cream shop came out victorious this time around, defeating Nathan’s Dairy Bar in Manassas in the final round. Moo Thru also topped Terra’s Ice Cream, Coffee, & Sweets in Vienna; The Dairy Godmother in Alexandria; Lil City Creamery in Falls Church; and Tilly’s Homemade Ice Cream in Fredericksburg to make it to the final round.

“We are so thankful to our wonderful customers and community for supporting us,” says the staff of Moo Thru. “We couldn’t do it without you!”

The ice cream shop is known for its “real ice cream from real dairy farmers.” Its handcrafted and slow-churned ice cream is available in nearly 20 different flavors and a variety of treats, including hand-dipped cones, soft serve, milkshakes, and sundaes. Flavors can also be ordered by the pint and quart.

Moo Thru was founded by dairy farmer Ken Smith in 2010. In addition to its Remington location, the ice cream shop has NoVA locations in Fredericksburg, Herndon, Hillsboro, and Warrenton, and additional Virginia locations in Charlottesville, Mineral, and Winchester.

The Remington storefront is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. 11402 James Madison Hwy., Remington
