2 Virginia Restaurants Make OpenTable’s Top 100 List

One of the establishments is a long-time NoVA favorite.

OpenTable has announced its annual list of the top 100 restaurants in the U.S., and two Virginia restaurants made the cut: L’Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls and L’Opossum in Richmond.

The list takes into account more than 10 million diner reviews and ratings, reservation demand, and percentage of five-star reviews. The resulting list aims to be a “a snapshot of the restaurants that captured diners’ hearts (and reservations) in 2025.”

L’Auberge Chez Francois is the only Northern Virginia restaurant on the list. A perennial on our Best Restaurants list, this French eatery led by chef Jacques Haeringer is a bucket-list destination for many NoVA diners. The restaurant was on OpenTable’s top 100 list last year as well.

OpenTable noted that L’Auberge as an example of a top restaurant that’s outside of a large city, “signaling that great dining experiences can be found far beyond major metros.”

Also representing Virginia is L’Opossum, a contemporary American restaurant in Richmond. Reviews on OpenTable called out its eclectic atmosphere and cocktail program.

Five Washington, DC, restaurants were also among the top 100: Caruso’s Grocery, Filomena, Jônt, Moon Rabbit, and SHIA. No Maryland restaurants were on the list.

Chicago boasted the most restaurants on the list, with 16 percent of all honorees. New York City was second, with 10 restaurants on the list.
