8 Places to Book Your Metropolitan Washington Summer Restaurant Week Reservations

From fine dining to barbecue, these are the best deals to score from August 9-15.

By Alice Levitt August 5, 2021 at 7:00 am

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington‘s summer edition of Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week takes place from August 9 to 15 this year. Not every restaurant has a menu posted yet, but from what’s online, these are my picks for  where I would make my reservations if I had the time. From fine dining to barbecue, there’s a flavor and a price point for everyone.

How much? $55

Where? Falls Church

Why? The three-course prix-fixe is normally $10 more here. From handmade pastas to delectable desserts, this is among the finest of fine dining in NoVA. Take advantage of the opportunity to try it at a discount.

Agora

How much? $55

Where? Tysons Corner

Why? You can’t go wrong with four courses of upscale Turkish fare. Start with a sampler of dips and finish with pistachio-mousse-filled profiteroles.

Blend 111

How much? $55

Where? Vienna

Why?  Chef Andrés-Julian Zuluaga is putting out some of the most artful cuisine in the region. This is a great time to try his modern Latin food for far less money than it’s worth.

How much? $35, $55

Where? Ashburn

Why? Fancy Indian food like chef Vira’s doesn’t come cheap. But this is a steal with three courses for $35 or five for $55. That doesn’t include the palate cleanser.

Cheesetique

How much? $35 for two

Where? Alexandria and Arlington

Why? Because we both know that you want a great cheese board. This meal starts with exactly that, before moving on to other fromage-heavy fare and finishing with chocolate mousse to share.

Mussel Bar & Grille

How much? $35

Where? Arlington

Why? You want a variety of mussels, from Mediterranean-style with merguez and harissa aioli to Thai green curry.

SER

How much?  Lunch $22, Dinner $35

Where? Arlington

Why? A three-course lunch for $22? The grilled flank steak with chimichurri and fingerling potatoes is worth more than that. SER is a restaurant worth discovering at any time, but this is a deal not to be missed.

Sloppy Mama’s

How much? $35 for a heaping barbecue platter

Where? Arlington

Why? $35 buys any appetizer and any dessert, plus four meats and two sides. If there was ever a time to make room for some meat, this is it.
