Check Out This International Food Festival–In a Manassas Supermarket

Mariachis and food tastings will be part of the party on June 26 and 27.

By Alice Levitt June 10, 2021 at 7:00 am

We’ve been fans of Oh! Market in Manassas since it opened in November. But the spot, which boasted of 60-plus countries of origin represented in its food from its inception, has grown by leaps and bounds. The formerly empty freezer cases are now full. The food court, which was under construction when the market opened, is stocked with three businesses. Taco Chinoz, pictured above, is a source for cheesy birria tacos, burritos, and of course, quesadillas. K-Bop has Korean street food, while Wasabiko serves poke bowls and sushi.

But on June 26 and 27, the fare you can taste isn’t limited to those purveyors. According to a press release, free tastings those days will represent cuisines including those of “Korea, China, Japan, Caribbean, Vietnam, Central America, Mexico, India and more.” The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“Now more than ever, it’s important we celebrate our rich diversity––every day Oh! Market brings together people of many different cultures and palates, and our food festival showcases the delicious cuisine that comes from our international community,” said Jacob Cho, vice president of the market, in the press release.

But eating isn’t everything.  A mariachi band will perform, and free raffles will gift shoppers with foodie surprises. Not that any day you can buy food from more than 60 countries isn’t a celebration in itself. 7412 Stream Walk Ln., Manassas
