An international food hall is coming to Herndon next month

Spice Village will include four restaurants with food from around the world.

Feel like peri-peri chicken? But what if one dining partner wants steak and another still is craving Chinese? Zayan Abbasi has the answer to the conundrum. In mid-November, he will soft-open Spice Village at the Village Center at Dulles, on Centreville Road in Herndon.

Spice Village is home to four different restaurant concepts. Abbasi already owns two locations of Peri Peri Original, an international chain of grilled chicken eateries, and is quickly expanding around the DMV. The first two counters inside Spice Village will be Peri Peri Original and Mandarin Halal Express, an Indo-Chinese restaurant that has an existing location in Springfield.

Two wholly new concepts will join the first two within a month. Kallisto Steakhouse is a halal steak purveyor. “There is no halal steakhouse in the whole area,” Abbasi claims. He seeks to change that with Kallisto, which he says will have a range of steaks and seafood.

The other restaurant is Khyber Shinwari. “It’s a type of tribal food,” Abbasi explains. The Shinwari are a subsection of the Pashtun people of Pakistan and Afghanistan, who have a unique cuisine. Abbasi says that the Shinwari dishes served at Spice Village will include karahis made “in the typical tribal way.”

With four concepts under one roof, Abbasi expects that Spice Village will be a great option for families. “No matter about gender or ethnicity or food choices, we have something for everyone,” he says. // 2501 Centreville Rd., Herndon
