Blue Duck Tavern Is Delivering Family Meals to Arlington

Curbside pickup and delivery are both options for diners who just don’t feel like cooking tonight.

By Alice Levitt September 17, 2020 at 8:00 am

The previously Michelin-starred Blue Duck Tavern may not be what you think of when comfy delivery options come to mind, but maybe it should be. The DC restaurant, inside the Park Hyatt Hotel, is known for its open kitchen that turns out locally focused fare including the famous duck. With more potential customers eating exclusively at home, it only made sense for Jean-Claude Plihon, Blue Duck Tavern’s director of culinary and food-and-beverage operations, to create a menu of favorites from the restaurant that diners can enjoy in safety and comfort. Though the restaurant is in DC, its delivery radius on DoorDash Drive means that Arlingtonians can also partake. Of course, anyone is welcome to come to the restaurant for curbside pickup as well.

The Blue Duck Tavern Family Meal includes a rotating selection of proteins and three sides, with prices ranging from $75 to $145. Each meal is sized to feed between two and four people. The photo above is of the signature whole roasted duck, which is served with arugula and kale salad with Green Goddess dressing and citrus vinaigrette, horseradish potato puree and harvest vegetables, including carrots, asparagus, radish, broccoli, fennel and parsnips. Other options include a whole roasted pasture-raised chicken, served with the same sides. The 18-hour-braised beef short ribs meal also features the arugula and kale salad, but comes with creamy stone-ground grits flavored with smoked Gouda, as well as roasted forager mushrooms. Warm rolls are included with all three meals. Whether you have an occasion to celebrate or just need a fancy break from cooking, duck sounds like a good idea to us tonight.
