It’s Bo time! Southern-favorite Bojangles’ to open first location in NoVA

Loudoun County will now be home to the region’s first location, known best for its fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits.

When you’re on the road to the southeastern United States from NoVA, there are a few things you can expect to see: the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, the fading of Wawa convenience stores into Sheetz and the appearance of fast food restaurant Bojangles’.

All right, you might not notice them unless you’re on the lookout, but the first time you pass the biscuit-and-fried-chicken favorite is in Fredericksburg on Route 95, or in Charlottesville on Route 29. (Unless you head north, where you’ll find a few outposts in Maryland and the nation’s capital). But none could be found in Northern Virginia. That is, until now.

Northern Virginia will be home to its own Bojangles’ in Loudoun County, according to The Burn, in a former Capital One bank space located in the Potomac Plaza shopping center at Cascades Parkway and Route 7 in Sterling.

The location will get a revamp from the current pillar-and-concrete look, as well as include space for a drive-thru, before serving up Bojangles’ signature family meals with fixin’s.

The Charlotte-based company has over 750 locations across the East Coast, with 68 currently in Virginia.

Although there’s no definite opening date on the restaurant in Sterling, local foodies can still get excited for Cajun filet biscuits (a spicy, Cajun-inspired fried chicken filet on a buttermilk biscuit), Bo-Berry biscuits (blueberry biscuits smothered in a sweet glaze) and Bo-tato rounds (golden, fried potato rounds) for breakfast, lunch and dinner sometime soon. It’s (almost) Bo time!
