At this shop with Colombian roots, you can grab prepared food to go or stop and stay awhile in the bright café. Order housemade pastries made fresh daily and specialty coffee sourced from small independent farmers in Colombia. Beignets & Brew
Beignets & Brew is now offering its signature New Orleans–style treats along with a coffee menu at its new Herndon location. Guests can taste a variety of traditional and specialty beignets including Nutella, cinnamon swirl, and chicken and beignets, along with flavored dips like blueberry, caramel, buttercream, and chocolate. The shop also offers a selection of coffee, tea, and smoothies. This is the company’s third Virginia location, and Springfield location is in the works. 348 Elden St. #460, Herndon
Blue Bottle Coffee
This California-based company has opened a kiosk at Tysons Corner Center. Designed for on-the-go service, customers can find iced and hot espresso beverages, pour overs, and matcha tea. Cherry on Top
Alexandria’s newest neighborhood café and wine bar is now serving espresso beverages, wine, pastries, and charcuterie. The shop aims to offer a relaxed and intentional atmosphere both inside and in its garden. Haraz Coffee House
A new location of Haraz Coffee House has opened in Sterling, expanding its Yemeni-inspired coffee and tea menu. The Michigan-born chain specializes in Yemeni coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and traditional pastries. Kin Espresso
This new Japanese-inspired espresso and matcha bar focuses on serving specialty coffee, ceremonial matcha, and desserts. The shop draws from Japanese kissaten culture and focuses on thoughtful hospitality, with a menu including coffee, tea, and housemade syrups. 145 Church Street NW, Vienna
Life Alive Organic Café
The Boston-based Life Alive Organic Café has officially opened its Old Town Alexandria location. The wellness-focused chain is known for its plant-forward menu of warm grain bowls, smoothies, and salads. Caffeinated health junkies can indulge in pressed juices, wellness shots, and selection of coffee and tea beverages. MOTW
The MOTW franchise expanded to Virginia this summer, bringing the brand’s specialty coffee and pastries to Reston. Its menu includes specialty espresso drinks, matcha, traditional Yemeni chai, iced refreshers, and Arabic pastries, with flavor options like cardamom, pistachio, and Biscoff lattes. Mudhouse Coffee Roasters
Newly opened on King Street, Mudhouse Coffee Roasters brings its award-winning specialty coffee to Old Town Alexandria, according to ALXNow. The Charlottesville-founded roaster serves coffee roasted in-house, with house-made syrups, espresso drinks, all-day breakfast and beans including their signature Mudhouse Blend. Plus, visitors can indulge in coffee-focused alcoholic drinks including espresso martinis.
Shotted
Shotted opened its first drive-thru concept this summer, according to FFXNow. The Saudi-style shop took over the former Compass Coffee location in West Falls Church, focusing on serving early risers. Customers can purchase a variety of coffees, teas, pastries, and desserts such as soft-serve ice cream and cakes. This is the company’s sixth location. 7393 Route 29, West Falls Church
Weird Brothers
A Northern Virginia favorite has expanded to Vienna. Weird Brothers Coffee officially opened its first franchise store this summer, making it the company’s fourth location. Known for its freshly roasted coffee and specialty “mischief menu” drinks, customers can enjoy the sips they know and love. Be sure to check out espresso flights to taste any three espresso, cold brew, or tea lattes. Whisked Away Cafe

Underdog Coffee and Bread
Underdog Coffee and Bread has made its way to Bailey’s Crossroads, Annandale Today reported. The café serves the same menu as its first location in Annandale, including specialty coffee drinks with flavors like butterscotch, pistachio, and ube coconut. Cuppi Coffee
This cute café is opening a new shop in Springfield, just months after its Alexandria store opened this spring. Although the location and opening date have not been announced, patrons are sure to expect their classic coffee, tea, and espresso drinks.
