The latest food trend has hit Northern Virginia, and a handful of local bakeries and cafés are putting their own spin on the colorful dessert. Here’s where you can find dot cakes and other inspired treats around the region.

Did you know that the owners behind Flavor Hive also run a café? In addition to lattes, loaded waffles, and make-your-own ice cream, Cafe Hive is serving its own trendy dot cake.
