Flavor Hive Teams Up with Local Business to Open New Locations

Additional locations are reportedly in the works for Manassas and Alexandria.

Local food truck Flavor Hive has teamed with home services provider Michael & Son to add several area restaurants, the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) reported.

These are in addition to Flavor Hive’s planned brick-and-mortar location at a former Wells Fargo space in Annandale. That location, at 4260 John Marr Dr., will open by July 4.

Now, Michael & Son owner Basim Mansour and Flavor Hive founders Amgd Gende and Shihan Chowdhury are moving forward with several additional DMV locations. Mansour told WBJ that he is currently in the process of closing on a fifth location for the restaurant. “I saw opportunity with these guys,” Mansour said. “I said, ‘I like your business. I like what you guys have, and I know I can help you make this thing big.’”

Other locations are reportedly planned for Manassas, Georgetown, and the Route 1 corridor south of Alexandria. The group also purchased property in May across the street from Potomac Yard Center.

Gende and Chowdhury launched their food truck last year, and it quickly gained popularity on social media. It drew the attention of TikToker Keith Lee, who visited the Alexandria outpost last August for a review. Flavor Hive now has 1.5 million Instagram followers.

The truck is most famous for its walking tacos but also serves halal quesadillas, rice bowls, loaded fries, and pita pouches.

Mansour told WBJ that Flavor Hive will station its food trucks in front of its planned locations to ensure a smooth transition for customers and staff.
