What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than by announcing the winner of our NoVA Wars: Taco Edition? After five close rounds, our readers have spoken: Don Sebas Taqueria is the first ever winner of our Taco Wars contest.
Before being voted the “Best Taco in Northern Virginia,” the Woodbridge taqueria defeated Banditos Tacos & Tequila, Tortas y Tacos La Chiquita, Taqueria Picoso, La Tingeria, and El Paso Mexican Restaurant.
“We are incredibly honored to have been named the winner of Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2025 Taco Wars!,” says the staff at Don Sebas Taqueria. “Every taco we serve is a piece of our story, made with love and packed with flavor just for you. … We want to thank our Don Sebas community for standing with us from the very beginning. You believed in us, rooted for us, and lifted us up. This isn’t just a win for our team but for every faithful customer, loyal guest, and underdog who never gave up.”
Don Sebas Taqueria originally started as a food truck, making the rounds at many Loudoun County breweries, wineries, festivals, and pop-ups. In 2020, the restaurant opened its first brick-and-mortar location. The group also runs Alexandria’s Helena’s Mexican Restaurant and is behind The Taco Shop, which is set to open in Ashburn in late May or early June.
Don Sebas is best known for bringing authentic Mexican cuisine and fresh ingredients to its fans. The menu features tacos made with housemade corn tortillas, including asada, pollo a la parilla, and honcos. Options to order the fan favorite tacos include one, three, or a platter – which includes three tacos and two sides. If you can’t make your mind up, go with the fan favorite Quesabirria taco.
The taqueria is open on Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 3908 Prince William Pkwy., Woodbridge
