The Inn at Little Washington has announced a fundraiser with the American Humane Society. And those who donate will have a chance to win luxurious prizes at the renowned inn.
The inn set a goal to raise $47,000 to signify its 47th anniversary. From now until February 20, a donation of $4.95 — a nod to what a meal cost at the inn when it opened in 1978 — is the amount it takes to be entered into the contest. Proceeds will benefit the American Humane Society’s mission through rescue efforts, shelter care, and advocacy.
“As pet lovers we decided to use this milestone anniversary to support American Humane Society’s mission and celebrate the role pets play in our lives,” said Chef Patrick O’Connell, founder of The Inn at Little Washington. “I’ve always shared a deep kinship with dalmatians. They’ve brought so much joy and personality to The Inn.”
Three lucky winners will be awarded the following prizes:
- A stay in The Cardinal’s Nest, the inn’s recently added two-bedroom guest cottage. The winner will also get a nine-course caviar tasting for four in the kitchen and a gift basket inspired by O’Connell’s beloved rescue dalmatian, Luray, featuring a selection of dalmatian-themed items and other surprises. The experience is valued at $20,000.
- A dinner for four in the kitchen at Table One, where diners will get to experience the Michelin dining experience. After dinner, there will be a private drink and conversation with O’Connell. The experience is valued at $5,000.
- A private tour of The Inn at Little Washington’s campus followed by dinner for four at the more casual sister restaurant, Patty O’s. The experience is valued at $1,000.
Winners will be selected on February 20 — National Love Your Pet Day.
“Every donation helps us continue our work rescuing animals in crisis, ensuring their safety, and giving them the care they deserve. Together, we’re making a tangible impact on the lives of animals in need, and we are so grateful for The Inn’s generosity and commitment to animal welfare,” said Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of the American Humane Society.
