A Taqueria Xochi opens Tuesday afternoon at Amazon’s HQ2 in Arlington, with a $7 deal on margaritas and the chance to win gift cards.
The National Landing location becomes the first Taqueria Xochi (pronounced so-chee) in NoVA. The Mexican street food restaurant has two locations in Washington, DC, on U Street and at Square Food Hall on K Street. The restaurant plans to open additional locations in 2025.
The restaurant’s menu includes its signature dish, a cemita (seen above), which is a torta-like sandwich with Oaxaca cheese, chipotle, beans, avocado, onions, tomato, and mayonnaise. The sandwich is available with chicken, beef, or vegetables.

Other offerings include tortas, tlayudas, birras, tacos, and nachos. The only items on the menu that exceed $20 are the tlayudas, crispy corn tortillas covered with refried beans, Oaxaca cheese, nopales, avocado slices, lettuce, and radishes.

In addition to margaritas, the drink menu features a number of cocktails, as well as several wine and beer selections.
For its grand opening at 4 p.m. Tuesday, the first person in line gets a $100 gift card, while the first 20 guests receive $25 gift cards.

Live Mariachi music plays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. From 7 to 10 p.m., there will be a live DJ.
Anyone spending $50 or more on food and drinks will get a free tres leches cake.
