These 5 NoVA Restaurants Make for an Unforgettable New Year’s Eve Dinner

Before the clock strikes midnight, enjoy one last delectable meal in 2022.

By Cyna Mirzai December 27, 2022 at 11:42 am

As you wait for the ball to drop this New Year’s Eve, put the ladle and spatula down and spend the evening enjoying a delicious meal without doing any of the work. From prix fixe menus to celebratory specials, there’s no better way to welcome in 2023 than with good company and good food. Reserve your spot at one of these local restaurants before it’s too late and start off the new year on the right foot.

Trummer’s

Start your New Year’s Eve off right with a delicious four-course dinner at Trummer’s. With a menu based around upscale French Creole cuisine, choose delectable options like the scallop stuffed mirliton squash and the venison gumbo. To make things even more festive, you’ll be joined by a live jazz band and, of course, a celebratory glass of Champagne. 7134 Main St., Clifton; $148 per person

The Salt Line

The Salt Line never disappoints when you’re craving oysters, and luckily the restaurant has curated a New Year’s Eve dinner menu perfect for any seafood fan. While you can still enjoy the full raw bar and dinner menu, the three dinner specials will make the night one to remember. You can choose from stuffed lobster for two, for any couple who loves crab stuffing; potato gnocchi, for anyone who might not be the biggest seafood fan; and the duo of dressed oysters, for those who just can’t get enough of the Chesapeake’s delicious oysters. 4040 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; $32-$65

Agora

At Agora, there will be a four-course prix fixe dinner that starts with dolmades and shrimp cold cuts and ends with desserts like the chocolate bavaroise. You can enjoy the roasted beetroot salad with a special rose water yogurt and munch on the grilled caulilini with a festive pomegranate garnish. The menu includes numerous gluten-free and vegan options. 7911 Westpark Dr., Tysons; $95 per person

Nostos

Head to Nostos for a four-course Greek dinner that will include something for everyone. You’ll start off the night with classic appetizers like tyrokafteri and spanakopita. Then, decide between the horiatiki salad, which includes Kalamata olives and feta cheese, and the pantzaria fournou, a flavorful dish of marinated beets over arugula as your second course. The third course will determine your meal’s price, with choices like the kreatomezes, a meat sampler of lamp chop, chicken, and filet mignon skewers, and the fileto, a filet mignon with a sweet mavrodaphne wine sauce. Of course, you can never forget about dessert, especially when we are talking about baklava and ice cream. 8100 Boone Blvd., Vienna; $80-$98 per person

The Ashby Inn

If partying and large New Year’s Eve celebrations aren’t your thing, take a drive to The Ashby Inn and enjoy an elegant dinner. Start with the roasted cauliflower bisque or seared foie gras. The day boat scallops or butter poached lobster will join as your next course, and the gochuchang pork belly or maple bourbon filet mignon will tie the savory meal together. And for an additional $95, you can enjoy a meticulously crafted wine pairing to round off the perfect New Year’s Eve dinner. 692 Federal St., Paris; $175 per person
