Here Are The Bidens’ Favorite Spots to Eat in Northern Virginia

He might be thinking about stress-eating at one of these restaurants right now.

By Stephanie Shipman February 2, 2022 at 4:13 pm

Before Biden was president but after his vice presidency, he had set up a nice little life in Northern Virginia. The Bidens rented a house in McLean, Jill continued to teach at Northern Virginia Community College, and together, they enjoyed all the Northern Virginia area has to offer–including its many restaurants. Get to know the Bidens’ dining habits at these local eateries.

McLean Family Restaurant

Biden would occasionally frequent this small, local restaurant for breakfast, brunch, or lunch and be nice enough to pose for photos with the staff. Fun fact: this restaurant was once part-owned by tennis great Pete Sampras’s father. 1321 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean

Rocco’s Italian Restaurant

Biden ordered from this local Italian joint. They don’t have New Haven pies on the menu, but they do have Chicago-style and New York-style pizza, as well as traditional Italian favorites like chicken parmigiana, lasagna, and baked ziti. 1357 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean

J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood

Just before Biden was elected president, he dined at this popular steakhouse chain. According to the Instagram post of a manager there, a table complained about the way the steak was cooked. When the manager went to talk to the table, she got the shock of her life when she realized it was Biden! He was a good sport, though, posing for a picture–and his steak was fixed. 6930 Old Dominion Dr., McLean

Metro 29 Diner

This popular diner, known for its breakfast and late hours, was the site of a lunch he hosted during the first term of his vice presidency. He met with seven local residents to discuss how a fiscal cliff would affect them. 4711 Lee Hwy., Arlington
