Grab a glass and collect your corks; it’s time to take your wine palate beyond what’s in your weekly shopping cart.

This month, Wardman Wines, the wine store and community tasting bar located in Washington, DC, launched its monthly subscription wine service, Wardman Circle, adding another option to the full list of wine clubs available to Northern Virginians.

Subscribes can expect three bottles of wine, a monthly pickup party and access to free wine tastings, as well as discounted classes, seminars and an in-store discount on other bottles complementary of those in the subscription box.

Members can join online for $75 a month, and can also prepay for a three-month membership at a 5% discount, or a six-month subscription at a 10% discount. Wines are ready and available to take home at the pickup party every second Wednesday of the month, and for 30 days thereafter.

The pickup parties give members the opportunity to socialize and taste other regional and specific varieties of wine, chosen by owner Hiram Powers-Heaven (who holds a Level 3 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust) and Beth Cover, Wardman’s senior manager and wine buyer, who has worked in wine retail for over 20 years.

Members are welcome to attend monthly wine tastings for free ($10 for non-members), with previous themes such as Wines of Burgundy and Iberian Peninsula, and wine seminars for 50% off ($35 for non-members) that include courses such as “Volcanic Soils of Italy” and “Exploring Portugal.”

Each monthly subscription box will include wines for everyday sips or celebratory soirees, ranging in value from $18 to $30 a bottle. For more information, visit wardmanwines.com.
