NoVA Pets of the Month: Bo and Sushi Are Ready to Settle in a New Home

These furry friends may be shy, but are quick to warm up to those who show them love.

Each month, we feature a dog and cat who are currently available for adoption through local animal shelters and rescue groups. For September, we’re excited to feature Bo the dog and Sushi the cat, both of whom are more than ready for their forever homes.

Dog of the Month: Meet Bo

Bo came to The Little Black Dog Rescue Group all the way from the Middle East. He spent most of his life in a shelter and even managed to survive multiple poisoning attempts by people who were trying to shut down the shelter.

Despite these hardships, Bo is a sweet guy. He has gradually started to come out of his shell with his foster family. Squeaky toys are the way to his heart and he adores getting pets from his foster mom. Bo is hoping for a patient family who will work with him as he continues to learn true love and trust. The 60-pound, 4-year-old boy is ready for a comfy couch to relax on and is house trained. He also does well with other dogs.

You can apply to adopt Bo by visiting thelittleblackdog.org/dog/bo.

Cat of the Month: Meet Sushi

Miss Sushi is an 8-month-old domestic shorthair mix who has been with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue since May 2022. She is a bit shy at first, but she warms up to families quite quickly. She loves to be where people are and enjoys being a great balance of playful, chill, and inquisitive. She is tentative around bigger dogs, but is getting used to them a little bit more each day. Sushi is wonderful with small dogs.

You can apply to adopt Sushi here.
