Hyper Kidz Alexandria, a Winter-Themed Playground, Opens in Franconia

If you are looking for a new indoor playground option for the kids to release some pent-up energy, this might be the solution.

Parents who are looking for ways to beat the heat can now take their kids to a new winter-themed indoor playground in Franconia. Hyper Kidz Alexandria opened Thursday in the Festival at Manchester Lakes shopping center.

The indoor playground for babies and kids up to age 13 is the second Hyper Kidz location in NoVA.  Ashburn has a candy-themed Hyper Kidz.

When parents bring kids to the 17,000-square-foot Alexandria location, they sign waivers for the children. The kids take off their shoes, but leave their socks on, and head to the soft play equipment to jump and slide about. There’s no time limit on how long they play.

Hyper Kidz has three areas intended for kids of different ages. The largest area, the Big Kid Zone, is for kids from 3 to 14 who are at least 4 feet tall. It has four levels and several different options for fun, including three different slides, a ball pit, an interactive video screen, several tunnels to crawl through, a mini soccer field, and a basketball court.

The Kid Zone for ages 2 to 7 has soft play equipment, a two-story balloon house, motorized revolving rides, slides, a ball pit, spinning palms, a building block room, a giant light-up wall, and a tike-sized LED air slide.

The Mini Zone is the perfect size for babies to age 2. It includes mini trampolines and soft slides and play equipment. Both the Mini Zone and the Kid Zone are open areas where you can easily keep tabs on your kids. Parents need to stay on the premises.

There are private party rooms available for birthday parties, with five party packages available, ranging in guest size from 10 to 30 kids. Like its location in Ashburn, Hyper Kidz has snacks and beverages available for purchase, including ice cream, fruit snacks, juice, and soda. Pizza can be brought in for birthday parties from the Pizza Hut within the shopping center.

Hyper Kidz Alexandria is open seven days a week. Rates depend on the age of the child and start at $10.99 per child, per visit. The indoor playground offers monthly, seasonal, and annual passes, as well as digital gift cards. 7005 Manchester Blvd. Ste. 10B, Franconia
