The Most Incredible Corn Mazes In Northern Virginia

From Garfield designs to haunted fields, these farms have done away with the traditional corn maze for a more extraordinary experience.

Updated September 23, 2022. It’s finally fall, which means it’s time to kick off a month of fun seasonal festivities as we count down to Halloween. While you may already have your trip planned to pick pumpkins and apples, have you thought about taking a special trip just for a corn maze? Local farms have upped the ante, adding special designs, haunts, and surprises around every corner of these extreme fields.

Belvedere Plantation

Through November 6, times vary
You’ll have an a-maize-ing time at Belvedere’s Maise Maze Adventure. This year, the farm’s corn maze design will be a part of a larger celebration honoring its 40th anniversary. 1410 Belvedere Dr., Fredericksburg

Cox Farms

Through November 7, times vary
The Cornundrum is the fun family maze to try this season. Not only do you have to find your way out of the field, but your little ones will love heading through the monster museum, playing with pirates, and finding more surprises along the way. 15621 Braddock Rd., Centreville

Fields of Fear

Fridays and Saturdays through November 5, 7:30-11 p.m.
After dark, Cox Farms transforms into the haunted Fields of Fear. With four different scary attractions, guests can choose between the maze, forest, hayride, and fairgrounds. If your older children have outgrown the regular corn maze, cornightmare is the next step up. 15621 Braddock Rd., Centreville

Great Country Farms

Through October 31, weekdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m., weekends 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
A 1.5-acre corn maze awaits you and your family at this family-owned farm. With scenes of stars, planets, and rockets cut into the maze, you can truly enjoy some out-of-this-world attractions throughout the property. After you make your way through the corn maze, head over to the apple orchard to pick up some juicy treats for fall. 34345 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont

Harvest Gap Brewery

Parents can enjoy a drink as they guide their kids through the patriotic maze at the brewery. As a veteran-owned business, this year the annual corn maze is celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps and its veterans with an 8-acre design of the branch’s emblem. Once you find your way through, crack open a cold one while you little ones enjoy other games and entertainment on the property. 15485 Purcellville Rd., Purcellville

Wayside Farm Fun

September 24-October 30, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
If you’re looking to test your orienteering skills, Wayside Farm needs to be on your must-visit fall destination list. With a 10-acre corn maze, you truly have to put your brain to the test to make it out. If you plan on heading to this maze, you may want to bring along a slice of lasagna as this year’s design will feature everyone’s favorite duo, Garfield and Odie. 5273 Harry Byrd Hwy., Berryville
