Volunteer Prince William Un-Trim-a-Tree Holiday Program 2020
This yearly program provides gifts to thousands of local children in the community; each child is provided two gifts valued at not more than $75 per child. Donations of senior baskets are also accepted and will be given to homebound seniors; baskets could include card games, crossword puzzles or other activities as well as treats, hand creams, warm socks, lap throws or wraps. Fill out and submit a donor form, after which you will receive a wish list and star shopping. The organization can only accept donations through Dec. 18 as their last distribution is Dec. 19. Cash donations are also welcome here.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
Angel Tree is a personalized holiday assistance program in which an individual sponsor or group sponsor purchases new clothing and toys for a deserving child (or “Angel”) in need. Once you register, you will receive an Angel Tree gift tag ornament that will include the child’s first name, age, gender, clothing sizes and three gift wish items thoughtfully prepared by the child’s parents. This year they have added contactless sponsorship options: gift card only Angels, electronic Angel Tree tags and shipping directly from online retailers. Check the website for details and to select your preferred county.
Arc of Loudoun
This organization’s holiday giving program recruits “elves” who volunteer to purchase gifts for individuals with disabilities and their families. There are still those who need to be matched; complete the form here.
Tree of Life Ministries Christmas for Others
Among this Purcellville nonprofit’s holiday outreach programs is one that provides Christmas gifts for children in need. You can help by making a financial contribution to the program, donating a gently used or new children’s coat or volunteering to wrap gifts the week of Dec. 14.

See form for more details.
Northern Virginia Family Service Gifting for Families
Though the deadline for gifting toys has passed, you can still donate gift cards (Target and Walmart are suggested) for those who can use them for holiday purchases or other necessities.
LINK Against Hunger
Link is looking for volunteers to purchase toys online for needy children. Check out their Target wish list or Amazon wish list.
Britepaths
Though they have suspended their Sponsor a Family option this year because of the pandemic, the Fairfax organization is requesting donations of funds and gift cards, which will be mailed to all of the families referred to them. Your gift will help them secure festive meals for the holidays and purchase gifts for their children. Donate here.
