As the weather gets warmer, there’s no better way to cool off than a trip to one of the many splash pads in NoVA. Here’s a quick list of where to go and what you will find there.
The Boro Splash Pad
This water zone is located on the upper promenade of Boro Park in Tysons. The 15-jet splash pad is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the summer season. 8350 Broad St., Tysons
Drew Park
This sprayground features a small archway and a giant flower that are perfect for a quick cool down. Although there is limited street parking next to the park, additional parking is available in the Charles Drew Community Center lot. 2310 South Kenmore, Arlington
The Interactive Splash Fountain at Virginia Gateway
Located in the heart of the shopping center, this relaxing splash pad is a great place to visit after taking the kids shopping. They’ll love the pop-up sprinklers that change colors. 14046 Promenade Commons, Ste. D-3, Gainesville
Mosaic District Splash Pad
This shopping-area splash zone is open from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. from May through September. Kids can also run and play at Mosaic’s new Strawberry Park Playground. 2905 District Ave., Fairfax
Our Special Harbor
Our Special Harbor is a 7,000-square-foot, zero-depth, fully ADA-accessible spray park. The massive play area features a water maze, a dumping crab basket, fountains, misting sunflowers, and a beach area with interactive water tables. Nearby, Chessie’s Big Backyard is an inclusive playground with accessible treehouses, trails, picnic areas, and play spaces. 6601 Telegraph Rd., Franconia

Potomac Yard Park
Featuring 36 water jets, sensors controlling water jet height, and a secondary ultraviolet water treatment system, the interactive fountain is fun for the whole family. It supports Alexandria’s Eco-City Initiative by treating and recycling water. Bonus: It’s situated between two playgrounds. 2501 Potomac Ave., Alexandria
Reston Town Center
Located in Town Square Park, this spray ground is open May through September from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily except during special performances in the park. It features about a dozen jets and is surrounded by amphitheater-style seating. 11900 Market St., Reston
Riverfront Park
This nearly four-acre property includes an interactive water feature and a children’s play area. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of park activities. 701 Sophia St., Fredericksburg
The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole
Fans of a playground-style splash pad will love this spot equipped with slides, a dumping bucket, and an obstacle course. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, and season passes are available. 1400 Lake Fairfax Dr., Reston

Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility
In search of an indoor space to beat the heat? The WARF features a water slide, small obstacle course, and zero-depth entry to give toddlers and seniors easy access. The WARF also features a 68,000-gallon leisure pool and a 3,600-gallon therapeutic spa. 800 Waterloo Rd., Warrenton
Woodlands Pool and Splash Pad
Adjacent to the main pool, small dumping buckets and sprinklers of varying pressures make this splash pad fun. Daily general admission tickets for open swim can be purchased at the door. 2 Northampton Blvd., Stafford
