7 Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Northern Virginia

Bring the whole family to “Noon Year’s Eve” events for an afternoon of fun.

You don’t need to stay awake until midnight to make the most of new year’s celebrations. At these family-friendly New Year’s Eve and “Noon Year’s Eve” events, you can celebrate the last day of 2025 all afternoon with your loved ones.

Kids New Years Eve Party with Rumi and Spider-Man

December 30, noon to 6 p.m.

Swing by Shipgarten for a meet and greet with KPop Demon Hunters’ Rumi and Spider-Man at 3:15 p.m. A kiddo rave is offered throughout the afternoon, along with a petting zoo, face painting, a magic show, and balloon drop. Shipgarten: 7581 Colshire Dr., McLean, $12.51

All Ages Noon Year’s Eve Day Celebration

December 31, 10 a.m. to noon

For a noon day balloon drop, visit the Vint Hill Community Center for an exciting afternoon with family and friends. Experience tasty food, fun games, and a variety of activities for kids. Vint Hill Village Green Community Center: 4235 Aiken Dr., Warrenton, free

First Night Alexandria

December 31, noon to midnight

This vibrant family-friendly festival has lit up Old Town Alexandria and the Carlyle neighborhood for more than 30 years. Begin your New Year’s Eve at the George Washington Masonic Memorial with kids’ activities, and then explore more than 20 acts of music, dance, comedy, and interactive art throughout Historic Old Town and Carlyle. Noon Year’s Eve at Hanson Regional Park

December 31, 10:30 a.m. to noon

Noon Year’s Eve Celebration

December 31, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Jump into the world of LEGO for an exciting New Year’s Eve afternoon. Arrive at 11:30 a.m. to receive a complimentary party favor and celebrate the new year with a sparkling apple cider toast.
