Check Out the Festival of Crafts & Kites in Leesburg This Weekend

Head to Ida Lee Park for a day full of creativity, kite-flying, and community fun this Saturday.

By Jamie Gholson August 14, 2025 at 11:44 am

Join Leesburg’s annual Festival of Crafts & Kites at Ida Lee Park this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will celebrate colorful kites and community fun.

You can bring your own kite to fly or just enjoy the view as kites of all shapes and sizes soar in the sky.

Plus, there will be opportunities to shop for handmade goods from local artisans including jewelry, artwork, crafts, and home décor. Kids can get in on the creativity with kids’ craft stations.

While crafts and kites are the main attractions of this festival, the event will also include entertainment in the form of moon bounces, a coloring tent, games and activities, and face painting. It will also feature food and beverage vendors and live entertainment.

Sit down and picnic in the park or grab a bite from the food vendors as you enjoy live entertainment. Musician Andreea Rebaltescu will perform at noon and 4 p.m. Jun Lee Taekwondo will perform an energetic martial arts demonstration at 2 p.m.

The Festival of Crafts and Kites is completely free, and pets are welcome. The event is rain or shine.
