There are a lot of subscription box services for kids on the market, but Arlington mom, Cynthia Marbley wanted to create one for young children that is dedicated to STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).

In this technological age, she felt it was imperative to make STEM highly accessible and fun for kids of different backgrounds, while also encouraging family time, and co-founded a service called Appleseed Lane.

“We started Appleseed Lane to provide phenomenal STEM experiences to kids across the nation. Our projects are aligned to national science standards and highly accessible to kids of all backgrounds and abilities,” says Marbley.

Families who subscribe will receive a themed box filled with up to four hands-on projects geared towards children ages four through eight. The projects are aligned to national science standards and revolve around fun topics such as engineering, crime science, sport science, sound and music, green science and more.

Marbley adds, “We realized that the only way we’d find the perfect kit—one that included super fun projects, presented information in an engaging way, included all materials and increased family time—was to do it ourselves.”

The best part for parents is that no additional materials are needed for completion. Forget about rummaging through cabinets or taking last minute trips to the store. Everything is included right in the box!  Plus, families can also choose to order additional materials with the “sibling add-on” option so that more than one child can share in the fun.

Each Appleseed Lane box features clear and cute illustrated directions, fun facts and explanations of the STEM concepts using kid-friendly language. This makes it easy for parents to guide their children’s learning and give their children the undivided attention they want and need.

“To us, this is about so much more than a product or service . . . it is about a larger mission to develop a love of learning and curiosity among kids nationwide while encouraging and supporting family time in the process, ” says Marbley.
