Woodbridge’s Shaboozey Is Nominated for 5 Grammys

The historic year for the country artist continues.

By Michele Kettner November 8, 2024 at 2:53 pm

Soon after Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was released onto the airwaves in April, it captivated listeners throughout the country. Now, the Woodbridge artist is being recognized for his work with five Grammy Award nominations.

The country artist is nominated for Best New Artist and Song of the Year, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance for “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Shaboozey is also up for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his feature on Beyoncé’s “SPAGHETTII” from Cowboy Carter. David Guetta’s remix of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is also nominated under Best Remixed Recording.

It has been a historic year for the Virginia native. He recently tied Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” as the longest running No. 1 single by a solo artist in American history. Shaboozey also made Billboard history when his song hit No. 1 on the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, marking the first time that two Black artists (he and Beyoncé) have led the chart in back-to-back weeks since 1958.

He isn’t a stranger to awards this year either. He’s already taken home the 2024 People’s Choice Country Award for new artist and new artist song for “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The singer is also nominated for new artist of the year and single of the year at the CMA Awards, where he is also set to perform his new single “Highway” on November 20.

The Grammy Awards will be held on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
