Wolf Trap Adds James Taylor, Lauryn Hill, and More to 2023 Summer Lineup

In all, Wolf Trap has added 19 new performances, from folk to hip hop to Disney tunes.

This summer is certain to get hot, and Wolf Trap is spicing things up even more by adding some big names to its lineup.

“In this summer’s lineup, you can really see that Wolf Trap is a place for audiences of all ages, tastes, and backgrounds,” Wolf Trap Foundation President and CEO Arvind Manocha said in a news release.

“Hip Hop, bluegrass, rock, Disney princesses — it’s all here, performed by incredible, genre-defining artists like Lauryn Hill and James Taylor.”

In all, 19 new performances have been added, as well as the lineup for Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods. Those shows are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays from June 20 through August 5.

Ms. Lauryn Hill

June 9, 7:30 p.m.
Celebrate the 25th anniversary Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which turned her into an icon with this rare live performance.

SOJA with Protoje and Jesse Royal

June 10, 7 p.m.
Hear Grammy-winning SOJA’s fresh take on roots reggae music. The Arlington natives return to Wolf Trap with Jamaican superstars and frequent collaborators Protoje and Jesse Royal.

Diana Ross

July 1, 8 p.m.
Diana Ross remains an icon and created songs that are the soundtrack of a generation. She’s returning to Wolf Trap for one night only.

UB40

July 9, 7:30 p.m.
It’s the 45th anniversary tour of the reggae-pop band. Maxi Priest and Inner Circle open for UB40.

Disney Princess – The Concert

July 12, 8 p.m.
Dress up as your favorite princess and prince, and join the four princesses as they perform Disney’s greatest hits.

Boney James with Lalah Hathaway

July 19, 7:30 p.m.
The smooth saxophone of Boney James will be joined by Lalah Hathaway. Violinist Damien Escobar makes his Wolf Trap debut.

Natalia Lafourcade

July 20, 8 p.m.
Mexican pop-rock, jazz, and folk singer Natalia Lafourcade, who is a 15 time Latin Grammy winner, performs music from her latest album, De Todas Las Flores.

DISPATCH with the National Symphony Orchestra

July 21, 8 p.m.
DISPATCH will push its boundaries with a performance with the symphony, include favorites, like “The General.”

Nickel Creek

July 23, 7:30 p.m.
The American bluegrass band Nickel Creek (Chris Thile on the mandolin, Sara Watkins on the fiddle, and Sean Watkins on the guitar) is on a reunion tour. They will reunite to perform the band’s latest album. Opening for the trio is Grammy winner Aoife O’Donovan.

Big Tony and Trouble Funk

July 29, 7:30 p.m.
The go-go ambassadors from DC play favorites, like “Pump Me Up.” They will be joined by all-female band Bela Dona and “Hood Rock” collective Black Alley.

Regina Spektor with Aimee Mann

August 3, 8 p.m.
Regina Spektor will surely be playing “Up the Mountain,” “Becoming All Alone,” and “One Man’s Prayer” as she takes to the stage.

Masters of the Mic: Hip Hop 50 Tour

August 17, 8 p.m.
Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One, Rakim, Slick Rick, Roxanne Shante, and DJ Spinderella all perform.

Juanes

August 18, 6:30 p.m.
Juanes, one of Latin rock’s leading global ambassadors, brings his traditional folk and indigenous rhythms of his native Colombia to Wolf Trap.

John Fogerty

August 19, 8 p.m.
John Fogerty, former frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival, bring blues, country, and rock to the stage.

Gov’t Mule with Jason Bonham

August 20, 8 p.m.
Gov’t Mule, led by ex-Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes, rocks Wolf Trap and marks the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

James Taylor

September 7-8, 10, 8 p.m.
James Taylor brings his All-Star Band back to Wolf Trap for audiences to hear classics like “How Sweet It Is.”

Squeeze and The Psychedelic Furs

September 14, 8 p.m.
Look for a British invasion as the two bands team up for an evening described as “Cool for Cats.”

Ray LaMontagne

September 17, 8 p.m.
Ray LaMontagne’s folk music has been featured on countless TV shows. Enjoy an intimate evening with him.
