A husband and wife were both found dead in a Centreville home on Wednesday. Both had gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to Fairfax County Police.
In a news conference, Ingrid Palencia with FCPD’s public affairs office said that officers were called the residence in the 6300 block of Sharps Drive in Centreville around 5:30 p.m. A family member had called 911 to report a shooting, Palencia said.
Both the husband and wife were pronounced deceased at the scene. A firearm was recovered in the home, Palencia said.
Palencia said that children were in the home at the time of the shooting but were not harmed. “There is definitely no threat to the general public at this time,” she said.
FCPD continues to investigate the incident.
