South Korean Café to Open First U.S. Location in Alexandria

Twosome Place will serve specialty coffee drinks and pastries at its upcoming NoVA location.

Twosome Place, a café brand based in South Korea, has announced its first U.S. location will be right in Old Town Alexandria. It’s expected to open in mid-October.

The brand was founded in Seoul in 2002 and now has more than 1,750 locations across South Korea. According to a news release, the company pairs specialty coffee beverages with cake.

“We’re excited to introduce American consumers to the café culture we’ve built over the past two decades, one centered on quality, hospitality, and creating a place where guests can gather over exceptional coffee and cake,” said Jay (Young Joo) Moon, CEO of Twosome Place Korea.

Those specialty cakes include Twosome Place’s signature Strawberry Chocolate Cream Cake and Ice Box Cake. Craft drinks will include a Black Sesame Latte and a Dalgona Cream Top.

The upcoming Alexandria location will be located at 404 King St. on the ground floor of the Alexandrian hotel. Other food-and-drink spaces at that location include Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and Life Alive Organic Cafe.

There are two additional U.S. locations in the works, but the brand has not yet announced the addresses.
