Country Living has ranked the 10 Best Small Towns in America, and Leesburg earned a spot on this year’s list.
The publication named Leesburg as the Best for Sippin’ & Pickin’ for its “award-winning vineyards and destination antiquing.” The area was lauded for its wealth of independent shopping spots. These include the Lucketts Store, Crème de la Crème, Wldwst, Muz & Rose, and Books and Other Found Things.
The magazine also called out local Zephaniah Farm Vineyard as “a fourth-generation working farm where tastings take place among the vines or in the 200-year-old manor house, and Stone Tower Winery which serves its wine list alongside lunch options like salads and pizzas should hunger hit.”
The Hotel Burg was noted as “a stylish new spot to stay.” Its restaurant, The Huntōn, was recommended for dining. The list also mentioned Goosecup for coffee or cocktails and The Wine Kitchen for its “comforting farm-to-table fare.” Country Living also suggested a stop at Mom’s Apple Pie Company “for a slice filled with locally grown strawberries and rhubarb.”
Other small towns on the list include Waverly, Alabama, for its “Southern Charm;” Livingston, Vermont, for its “Big Sky & Bold Art;” Paoli, Wisconsin, for its “Local Flavor;” and Taos, New Mexico, for its “Southwestern Culture.”
