Bike to Work Day

One of the region’s most popular cycling traditions returns with dozens of pit stops planned throughout the area. Organized by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, Bike to Work Day celebrates bike commuting with free T-shirts, refreshments, giveaways, and community events at pit stops across Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Ride of Silence
May 20
Cyclists around the world will participate in this annual solemn ride honoring cyclists who have been injured or killed while riding on public roads. Riders cycle no faster than 12 mph in a show of remembrance and to raise awareness about bicycle safety and sharing the road.
