A new Netflix kids competition show is in the works. Schooled! will feature kids ages 7 to 17 taking on a series of real-world STEM challenges.
Interested NoVA parents can sign their child up to tape an audition video at Code Ninjas, located at 4694 King St., Alexandria, ALXNow reported. The learning center will be hosting auditions from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, and Thursday, April 30.
Kids can audition individually or with a friend or relative. Code Ninjas staff members will help to record a two-to-five-minute video and submit it to the casting team.
Netflix’s Schooled! will be hosted by former NASA engineer Mark Rober. It will be produced by CrunchLabs, Rober’s popular education technology company, as well as Kimmelot, Jimmy Kimmel’s production company.
“I couldn’t be more stoked to team up with Netflix and Jimmy Kimmel to bring Schooled! to life,” Rober said in a Netflix news release. “Our series is about giving kids a stage big enough for their ideas. This will be the ultimate playground for science, creativity, and competition to come together. I’m so pumped to see what these students come up with.”
Audition applications can also be submitted through the CrunchLabs website.
