Where to Go Roller Skating in Northern Virginia  

Get your skate on at one of these fun-filled rinks, no experience necessary.

Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned skater, Northern Virginia is home to a variety of roller rinks and pop-up skate nights. From historic community spaces to centers with themed skate nights, these rinks offer a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Permanent Rinks

Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink 

Skate at this historic 1903 roller rink in Purcellville’s Fireman’s Field Park. Bush Tabernacle offers open skate sessions, teen nights, birthday parties, and special events. With skate carts available for beginners and concessions on site, all ages and skill levels are welcome. 250 S. Nursery Ave., Purcellville, $8+ 

The Cavalier Family Skating Center 

This location is a spacious Stafford rink that’s perfect for family outings, beginners, and seasoned skaters alike. Cavalier also hosts private parties and gatherings in its 10,000-square-foot facility. Skate rentals are available, and the snack bar keeps the fun going between laps. 1920 Richmond Hwy., Stafford, $8+ 

Skate N’ Fun Zone 

More than just a rink, this Manassas hotspot combines skating with arcade games, a laser zone, and a café. Skate N’ Fun Zone offers open skate sessions, birthday parties, group events, and even special themed classes. 7878 Sudley Rd., Manassas, $4+ 

Pop-Up Skate Nights

Douglass Community Center

This Loudoun County community center offers family skate nights throughout the year. Check out a St. Patrick’s Day skate on March 13 or an Open Skate Night on April 18. Bring your own skates or rent them for a fee. 407 E. Market St., Leesburg, $2+

Franconia Rec Center

Fairfax County Parks and Recreation offers Family Skate and Dance nights at the Franconia Rec Center, complete with music from a DJ. There’s a ’70s themed event on February 21 and a St. Patrick’s Day themed event on March 21. 6601 Telegraph Rd., Alexandria, $10+

Thomas Jefferson Community Center

Head to this Arlington County community center for a family-friendly skating event on select Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. There are events until March 28, with upcoming dates on February 7, February 21, and March 7. 3501 2nd St. S., Arlington, $3+
