The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department recovered two workers dangling from a malfunctioning window-washing basket this morning. The workers were cleaning windows at the Tysons Tower at 7900 Tysons One Place.
The Technical Rescue Operations Team lowered the workers into a tower ladder bucket uninjured, county Fire and Rescue officials said.
When units arrived, they found two workers hanging from their five-point harnesses around the 15th story. The first worker was rescued around 10:07 a.m. and the second around 10:24 a.m., FFXNow reported.
Fire and rescue coordinated from below, inside, and on the roof of the building, with fire department officials harnessing up and working to secure the workers in the air.
At 22 stories high, Tysons Tower claims to be the tallest building in Tysons, with panoramic views of DC and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The building is home to consulting, technology, and financial firms.
